Michel Weber (*1974) Interactive Media Designer und Videotechniker
Seit Ende der 90er Jahre befasse ich mich mit dem stehenden und bewegten Bild. 2003 gründete ich die [KAF] die ich 1.5 Jahre später mit 7 anderen Teilnehmern mit einem Dokumentarfilm abschloss, welcher mich zurück zu meinem Geburtsort nach Südafrika führte.
Ab 1998 war ich am Zürcher Opernhaus als Beleuchter tätig und wechselte 2001 an das Theater der Künste, das Teil der [ZHdK]* ist. Zuerst arbeitete ich dort als Beleuchter und ab 2004 als Videotechniker. Seit 2008 leite ich die Videoabteilung des Theaters der Künste und gebe dort Einführungskurse in die digitale Videotechnik.
Ich habe mich besonders im Bereich der interaktiven Performance und der verschiedenen digitalen Technologien (Kinect, Wiimote, Mapping etc. ) spezialisiert. Für TroikaTronix’ [Isadora] Software bin ich Betatester, Forum-Moderator und Teil des TroikaTronix Teams. Analoge und digitale Signale und Kommunikationsprotokolle wie RS232, DMX, MIDI, OSC wie auch Computernetzwerke kommen bei mir regelmässig zur Anwendung.

Workshop Feedback
I found the KeepIzzyUp4Ever a crucial workshop to have taken and was so glad I did. Michel alleviated all of my concerns about the prospect of systems crashing and of not knowing how I could best prevent this. The whole method made sense with the helpful patches Michel had written for us to get us through with really useful notes throughout the Izzy file to guide us through retracing our steps. I can’t wait to get the master / slave system set up where it will only drop a couple of frames in between automatically switching if it crashes.
