Since the end of the 1990\u2032s I have dealt with standing and moving pictures. In 2003<\/strong> I founded the [KAF<\/a>] where, one and a half years later and with 7 other participants, I finished a documentary movie which led me back to my place of birth in South Africa.<\/p>\n

From 1998<\/strong> I worked at the Zurich opera house as a light operator and then moved to the theatre of the arts in 2001<\/strong> which is part of the [ZHdK<\/a>]*. I worked there first as a light operator and then from 2004<\/strong> as a video technician. Since 2008<\/strong> I have lead the video department and teach courses in digital video technology.<\/p>\n

I am particularly specialized within the area of interactive performance and different digital technologies (Wiimote, Kinect, projection mapping etc.). I am a TroikaTronix\u2019 [Isadora<\/a>] betatester, forum-moderator and\u00a0part of the TroikaTronix team. Analog and digital signals and communication protocols like RS232, DMX, MIDI, OSC as well as computer networks are regularly used in my work.<\/p>\n

Workshop Feedback<\/h2>\n

I found the KeepIzzyUp4Ever<\/strong> a crucial workshop to have taken and was so glad I did. Michel alleviated all of my concerns about the prospect of systems crashing and of not knowing how I could best prevent this. The whole method made sense with the helpful patches Michel had written for us to get us through with really useful notes throughout the Izzy file to guide us through retracing our steps. I can\u2019t wait to get the master \/ slave system set up where it will only drop a couple of frames in between automatically switching if it crashes.

I was happy to participate in the KeepIzzyUp4Ever<\/strong> workshop in Berlin. Michel gave some great tips on performance and the big budget solution to crashes with the master and the slave computer is just brilliant.
